Body Fat Composition Scale: How Did It Change My Life?
My story is probably very similar to many people out there struggling with mental and physical health. I never really knew how linked the two were. It took an insane amount of doctors, specialists, many therapy sessions, what feels like a million tests, and a ton of needle pricks for blood work.
I was told I had anxiety, depression, gut issues, and needed to lose weight. How, though? I don’t even look overweight! I didn’t feel like my anxiety came from my brain versus not feeling well and not being able to figure out why, so call me anxious if you want.
Confronting Anxiety and Depression
Then you throw the big “D” in there. I sort of shrugged it off because, with all of these health issues and uncertainty, it can lead anyone to feel depressed and down. I really did not know what was going on with my body; I just knew I felt off.
I think this is the case for so many of us. So, how was I supposed to understand all of this medical terminology and truly become my own health advocate? It took a lot of intentional learning, a long road of research, and a lot of trial and error.
Body Fat Composition Scale: Understanding and Utilizing Modern Health Technology
No two bodies are alike; however, with the proper tools and education, we can truly heal our bodies from many things. With all of the technology and information readily available to us now, you don’t need to attend a prestigious medical school or have a Ph.D. in biology.
Oftentimes, it’s up to us to do the work and utilize the information and tools we have available. I started to really unpack this gut health stuff, and the more I learned, the more fascinated I became.
The Role of the Body Fat Composition Scale in My Health Transformation
One tool I found extremely useful—and I tell everyone about it, trust me—is the body fat composition scale. They don’t call these smart body scales for nothing. It showed me what health meant from the inside, not just what I saw. I knew how I felt, but I always looked healthy, if that makes sense.
Back to gut health! I learned that your gut is truly the center of your total health. It controls your hormones, can predict your aging process, tells a story of your mental health; it is literally one of the, if not the most important parts of our body.
I learned that I had some seriously high body fat, visceral fat around my waistline to be exact. I learned about this when I started using the body composition scale on a daily basis. Too much visceral fat can cause inflammation and chronic diseases.
Chronic diseases, autoimmune diseases, thyroid issues—these all affect your hormones and mental health while simultaneously making your physical health deteriorate and have you feeling so horrible. I’m truly grateful for this body fat composition scale and recommend it to anyone who needs a better look into their health.
